PTC is at the convergence of the physical and digital world, harnessing big data to help customer products maximize their potential. In a nutshell, they’re at the heart of the ‘internet of things’. So how do you visualize that in a cool way that also clearly shows what you’re trying to say?
My main challenge was trying to understand what all of this really means and reducing that to simple visual concepts that would complement the footage we had. Though I was hesitant about going with one of those overplayed super popular "futuristic UI" looks I had to admit that it was the best choice for the project.
Taking inspiration from spiderwebs and organic fibers we gave the piece an augmented reality ‘look’, overlaying delicate dimensional line animations tracking motion in the on to the footage. The lines express an organized ocean of digital information moving seamlessly from product to product manufacturer.
